Ayvaz Avoyan was born in 1957 (Gusanagiugh, Shirak, Armenia).
In 1974 – 1976, Ayvaz Avoyan studied at Gyumri Fine Arts College, in 1986 he graduated from Yerevan Fine Arts and Theater Institute.
Since 1986, Ayvaz’s works have been exhibited in Moscow, Leningrad, USA, Argentina, Belgium.
The works are located in Yerevan Museum of Modern Art, in private collections of Armenia and abroad. In 2013, an exhibition hall named after Ayvaz Avoyan was opened in Gusanagiugh, with a permanent display of Avoyan’s works.
He had individual exhibitions in Yerevan (1993, Yerevan Museum of Modern Art).
In 2001, he participated in a group exhibition with three other artists at the Rudolph Gallery in Amsterdam.
